I just moved my family into a new apartment because 3 days after I got home from having my youngest ( now only 4 months) we got a "no cause" term of our lease. So we had 30 days to find a new home with only my short-term disability income because I was on maternity leave and my mother-in-laws fixed income from social security and disability, my husband just lost his job do to lay offs too.
We have 2 little ones under the age of 2 and need to pay $300 by the 10th of this month to our PGE bill, mom has $50 of it and I will have $50 on the 14th. I am back to work, but I am only part-time and husband has been working under the table, but because we have to play catch-up we still can't even make it check to check every 2 weeks.
I have tried care to share, they have no funds....tried community action, they have no funds til July 1st.....I don't know who else to try.....please help in anyway possible we need our electricity on for our babies, once we are caught up we will do just fine! Just gotta get us there first!

I have two children ages 11 and 6 and we recently just left our home in moved into temporary housing. I have signed a lease and have everything ready to turn on but I dont have the money to pay the deposits. The Electric is 495. the water is 256. and the gas is 103. and phone is 225. We are scheduled to move in on 06/03/2013. We left our temporary housing because for 6 years we have been victims of domestic violence and I seen an opportunity to get out while he is in prison and is going to be released soon. To show my honesty, if you go to the florida department of corrections website and under offender search put in the DC# 371375, you will see that is my ex, his original charge was domestic battery by strangulation but the state dropped it to a lesser charge. I do not do drugs and have a monthly income of 1156.00 but do to having to move to temporary housing suddenly I am negative 287.17. Please if someone can shed some light! Thanks!

I live in Ohio, our electric bill is so high we got it shut off. I also have two toddlers, I am so desperate for help and I can't find any! I've tried job and family services, but they said I needed to pay my entire bill before I'd be applicable. I can give you some general information,but not knowing what city you are in that is all I can do for now.
Usually there are several organization in every State/City that helps with utilities .rent, deposits etc.
1.) Salvation Army is in most cities and helps with rent.utilities,rental deposits, and other assistance.
2.) Catholics Charities
3.) There is also a program in most States called "LIHEAP" Low Income Housing Energy Assistance Program"
4.) "The United Way " also has referral numbers too .
look on the Internet to get phone numbers and addresses of these and other organizations in your area. If you want to see what other assistance is in your area type in "emergency financial assistance" plus the area that you are located in and a list of organizations should show up .

I am a single mother of two children and lost my job in August of last year. I received unemployment until recently when the money on my claim ran out. I have applied for an extension but I don't even call my first check in until the middle of May. My electric is being shut off in the morning and I have no way at all of paying it. My name is Britney, and I could seriously use some help with my electric bill. I've been struggling to make ends meet since I had a mishap with my school loans. The paper work for my loans was not submitted correctly on the schools end, resulting in me spending my entire savings/emergency money to correct the problem. I have not been able to stabilize myself financially since this incident has occurred. I have not been able to return to school, since I have had to get a full time job just to pay my rent.
